Welcome to the Renewables Done Right education website for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt regions. Our regions are continuing to attract interest from renewable energy developers due to our abundant solar and wind resources, transmission line infrastructure and large areas of land already cleared for agriculture. Large-scale renewables projects need to be well-planned and well-designed, strive for net positive outcomes for nature and productive co-existence with agriculture, and have early genuine community consultation to maximise local outcomes.
This website is a companion to a booklet that has been put together in response to questions raised by our local communities regarding the planning, construction, operation and decommissioning of renewable energy projects in our regions. Printed copies of the booklet are being circulated and it can be viewed or downloaded by clicking here or on the cover image at right. Sources cited in the booklet are listed on a separate page. Where possible we have endeavoured to provide peer-reviewed independent sources of information.

The material on this website has been put together by a team of people comprising DDEC members, GBSAN members, and many volunteers. This website supplements the booklet with a flexible presentation of information that can be updated as renewable energy evolves thanks to new technologies, legislation, and projects.
